Get Well Wrapped Up and Get Out There

Rain, rain and more rain and even more snow is being forecast and that East wind is not helping.

Get Well Wrapped Up and Get Out There

BUT don’t get down for its so easy to get in the habit of not going fishing because of bad weather and keeping warm watching the TV on the sofa.

The thing is nowadays with all the modern clothing, footwear, headwear and gloves there is no need to be cold or wet indeed I really enjoy being out beating these conditions and catching fish.

I love sitting under the umbrella wrapped up well with my flask and sandwiches staring out at nature stripped back to its winter best and then getting a bite and photographing a nice fish that means so much because you know the effort it has taken to catch it.

Then arriving back home and feeling the warmth of the house and of course sitting down to an evening meal which always tastes better when you have been out in the elements all-day long.

Lots of people in this modern world talk about our mental health well let me tell you nothing is better for your mental good than country views and good fashioned fresh air.

Don’t always listen to the forecast especially a week in advance just get the gear in the car and go and very often the weather turns out a lot better that predicted and turn that dark winter day into an angling “red letter day”.
