The Good Times Are on the Way…
I know as you look outside at the rain, flooded land and even a little snow thrown in its hard to think about spring fishing.
The Good Times Are on the Way…
But the other day whilst out fishing I noticed there was something a little bit different in the power of the sun and a little bit more warmth in its rays and it was after 5pm when I packed up to go home so believe it or not spring is starting to show form and will soon be upon us and with spring will come some great fishing.
Indeed, I reckon that some of the best fishing especially on the river is the last month of the river season obviously depending on water levels. But past years that last month has been good to me seeing me catch big pike, zander, perch, roach, barbel and grayling.
But even if the rivers are flooded don’t despair for stillwaters will be starting to warm only a degree or two but enough to see those stillwater fish starting to really feed.
I love this time of year for everything is starting to come to life ok some days it will take a step back with a layer of snow but generally you can see the crocuses, daffodil’s and the grass starting to grow in the garden and layers of snowdrops out in the fields and birds start to be busy and nosier as they start to pair up with thoughts of breeding not far away.
The good times are almost here get out there and enjoy them.
