Des Taylor’s May Angling Tips

Be Ready for the Start of River Season

Are you ready for the 16th of June the start of the river season?

For it’s only a couple of weeks away now and yet I bet anglers will be waiting to get bits of tackle and bait the day before, which is fine if the supplier still has some left after the influence of sales from late buyers.

Me I’ve been preparing for weeks and my bits and pieces that I use for my barbel fishing at the start are already in my tackle bait.

My two main baits both from Willy Worms are my boilies which I have opened the bags and air dying them to make them harder and last longer in the water and I have a couple of bins full of my special pudding mix ready to go at the start.

The boilies I usually take a kilo with me and spare bags in the car and as for the pudding mix I make up about 2 kilos for 8 hours barbel fishing and any left I put in the freezer for another day, no waste in my fishing.

Look at your gear today for remember the old saying “ by failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail” so true.
