Understanding Carp Behaviour in Spring
During the colder months, carp remain relatively inactive, conserving energy in various layers of the water depending on temperature and air pressures. However, as temperatures rise, they migrate to shallower areas where the sun warms the water more quickly. This makes locating feeding carp easier than in winter. They often frequent areas with emerging vegetation, muddy bottoms, and sheltered spots with warmer water.
Carp also start feeding more aggressively in spring to replenish their energy reserves. Their diet shifts to include natural food sources such as the likes of blood worm and small crustaceans but be in no doubt on a well fished water carp will accept anglers bait as a natural food source.
I will be sharing expert tips, insights, and advice to help you make the most of your angling experience on and off the water.
