Des Taylor is one of Europe’s best-known all-round anglers, having caught a diverse range of species, including near-record Dace and even an 1,800lb Great White Shark
He was the first winner of the Angling Writers Association’s “Best Angling Writer of the Year” award and also the first recipient of the Angling Trade Association’s “Angling Personality of the Year” award. Des has written well in excess of a million words throughout his writing career, including a weekly column for Angling Times that spans a 35-year period. Des currently holds the position of President of the Perch Fishers Club and is the proud Patron of the British Disabled Anglers Association. He was also the first ambassador for the Barbel Society and is a trustee for The Angling Heritage Charity.
Des has never regarded angling as just about catching big fish; it’s about his passion for nature and the natural world. For Des, every fishing trip offers a unique opportunity to enjoy the sights and sounds of each location.
